M is for Mortal Instruments and Music

Hello!
As you may have known, recently a movie version of the book 'Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' has come out in the cinema. Recently I watched it and I loved it! I had read the book and I am currently reading the second one. I decided I would do my first movie review!! Also recently, I heard a particular song, and I had to share it with you! :)In this blog post, I will do a movie review. It is not going to be an officially formatted movie review: I'm just going to write stuff about it!
*Spoilers*
I really liked the movie, but it wasn't as good as the book; as usual. I think that the cast were chosen very well, except for a few exceptions. Robert Sheehan (Simon) played his character well, but I don't think that he looked geeky enough. Also, Simon could have made some really clever nerdy comments or references during the movie. It would have made the movie better, but it wouldn't have made it any longer. Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Valentine) was casted perfectly but I wanted his character to be more proper and Politian like. Also, what is with his dreadlocks?? Is he meant to be a pirate? If there is a second movie, they need to get rid of the dreads!!
But I must say when Clary (Lilly Collins) wakes up and there are hundreds of pieces of paper with this one symbol on them stuck to the walls, it kinda felt like some horror movie. That was soon replaced with the normal supernatural stuff.
My highlights of the movie were when the door slams and Joyclyn exclaimes, “Jesus!”, and Simon comes around the corner and says, “no, it’s just me..”. This is one of my favourite scenes!
Costumes were also very cool! My favourite was Jace’s! He looked very cool in his Shadowhunter outfit! :)
My major bone to pick with this movie is that throughout the whole movie, it was always, 'Jace saves the day'. In two parts of the movie, Jace has saved the day, where in the book, someone else does. In the part where the greater demon is attacking. In the book, Simon bursts in with a crossbow, and shoots a covered skylight. The light then makes the greater demon go back to the underworld or where ever they came from. In the movie, Simon helps, but Jace saves the day. The other example of this happening in the movie is right at the beginning, where Clary is fighting the Ravener Demon, Jace ends up saving the day. In the book, Clary shoves a demon hunting device down the demon's throat. Jace doesn't help at all! These parts in the book help create the character who they are. Clary becomes a fighter, someone who has a chance against demons. Simon becomes a hero, he isn't just the mundane who is always in the way. He is there to save them instead of Jace. The movie just ruins it!
Apart from that, the movie was still good. It was so good, I want to see it again! 7 out of 10 stars!

*End of Spoilers*
Now,
I would like to show you a song that I have just found out about! This was a song, made by a real band, but it wasn't meant for people to take it seriously. Now it is becoming more and more popular! Here it is:

The next one is a song for Catching Fire by Coldplay. It's called 'Atlas'! I LOVE the video! Here it is!

Well, I better go! My laptop is running out of battery.. XD
See you soon! :)
